In 1977 my mother, Jane Kaminsky, opened The Natural Trading Co. in Pleasanton, California.  It was a small 1,500 square foot natural foods store that became known as NTC. The store featured 80 bulk bins of various nuts, seeds, and delights.  There was a small café which served vegetarian sandwiches, salads, and soup. In addition, the store sold books, vitamins, cosmetics, as well as dry goods. The store was a place for me to learn about natural foods, customer service, and creativity. I was 13 at the time and was proud of my first job. My mother’s powerful example is why I became a farmer, and she inspired me to follow my dream of having a store like hers. Thank you for your support — Bryan Kaminsky
