What We Grow

Natural Trading Co. prides itself on growing a fantastic variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs including over 5 different varieties of kale, 30 varieties of tomatoes, and persimmons on our 50+ year old trees.

VEGETABLES

We grow everything from arugula to zucchini. Our winter crop might include up to 5 different varieties of kale, chard, collards, arugula, mizuna, bok choy, beets, carrots, cabbage, fennel, lettuce, spinach, winter squash such as butternut and delicata, turnips, rutabaga, kohlrabi, lettuce, brussels sprouts, jerusalem artichokes, parsley, cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes, herbs and others. A summer harvest could include garlic, onions, basil, sweet peppers, spicy peppers, summer squash, eggplant, cucumbers, green beans, melons, potatoes, and our famous first-of-the-season tomatoes.

SUNFLOWER GREENS

Sunflower greens are amazingly tasty, tender, and beautiful. They are grown from black oil sunflower seeds and take about 12 days from seed to green. They are a storehouse of nutrition including vitamins A, B, C, and E. an incredible amount of potassium, and are high in calcium, magnesium and iron. They are full of amino acids – almost 25% protein! Because they are germinated, the plants stored energy is activated, giving you more minerals and vitamins with fewer calories than a dry seed. These greens are delicious on their own, on a sandwich and in salad. Kids love them!

PEA SHOOTS

Our pea shoots are a nutritious leaf green with high levels of vitamins C and A. One small small bag! provides the days requirement for vitamin C, vitamin A, and a significant amount of folic acid. These nutrients protect the body from free radicals, help keep skin healthy and immune systems strong. Pea shoots offer 7x more vitamin C than blueberries, are low in fat, and only 9 calories per 50 gram serving. This shoot is so simple, delicious, and easy to add to your daily diet.

WHEATGRASS

Folks come from miles around to secure Natural Trading Co wheatgrass. We have been growing wheatgrass for 15 years and are very proud to offer the best wheatgrass available.
